HR 7059 / SB 2104 sponsored by Scott Slater and David Tikoian | Authorizes the appropriation of the sum of $100,000 for the RI Long-Term Care Ombudsman program. (This amount has not increased from $40,000/year in 15 years.)
HB 7624 / SB 2571 sponsored by Susan Donovan / Pam Lauria | Increases frequency of inspections of assisted living facilities with Special Dementia Care Units to annual, from biennial. (Inspections of all assisted living residences were annual until 2017)
HB 7488 / SB 2714 sponsored by Brandon Potter / David Tikoian | Removes intent from definition of neglect/abuse for elders/nursing facilities (to match federal definition and RI definition for other populations)
HB 7930 / SB 3025 sponsored by June Speakman / Melissa Murray | Requires transparency of ownership for nursing homes and limits equity extraction.
HB 7927 sponsored by Jason Knight | Allows residents to use facility’s shared internet wifi for an electronic monitoring device
HB 7929 / SB2566 sponsored by David Morales / Jake Bissallion | Limits a facility's ability to charge rent and fees following a resident’s death for a maximum of 7 days or until removal of the personal property from the room. (Currently most facilities charge for 30 days after a resident’s death.)
HB 7928 / SB 2875 sponsored by Susan Donovan / Tiara Mack | Enables and supports the formation of resident and family councils in assisted living residences
